Asheville resident and Australian native Jonathan Clarke has confirmed his appearance for the 2nd annual Bookwalter Binge on October 31st. The all-arounder has been a steady presence on United Health Care Pro Cycling Team for the last six years and began his American career on Toyota-United and Jelly Belly after the government of Australia officially kicked him out. Luckily he met his future wife Laura (also a former pro cyclist and past Binge attendee) at the Philadelphia Classic. She took him back to Asheville and he hasn’t left since. Jonny, a selfless contributor and team captain, had a terrific USA Pro Tour Challenge, finishing in the top 5 on multiple stages and spending a day in the Sierra Nevada KOM jersey. This will be Jonny’s second appearance at the Binge. Between now and the Binge you can run into Jonny on the roads of Asheville and give him kudos on Strava @ Jonathan Clarke while viewing some of his more magnificently drawn rides of the season.
