Winston-Salem Native Also a Brainiac
The Binge is proud to announce that Lauren Komanski, of team TIPCO, will be joining the Binge Pro Cyclist lineup in 2016. Lauren is from Winston-Salem, NC, and found cycling after running for Columbia University’s D1 track and cross country team. She raced for NOW & Novartis while completing her degree in veterinary medicine at NC State University. In 2015 she raced for Team TWENTY16, winning two stages of Tour de l’Ardèche, scoring a second and a third in Amgen Tour of California, a third in the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic, and represented the US National team in the World Championships in Richmond. A bad crash in resulting in a broken hand in her first race of 2016 (Tour Femenino de San Luis in Argentina) prevented her from racing competitively for much of the 2016 season. She has decided to retire to work full time as a veterinarian.
